Ingredients

Scale
  • 3.5 cups (500g) bread flour (sifted)
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 2 cups milk, lukewarm
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Sift flour into a bowl and add baking powder, instant dry yeast, and salt.
  2. Mix well to blend.
  3. Add egg and lukewarm milk.
  4. Mix until all ingredients are well combined. The dough will be sticky.
  5. Transfer your dough onto a well floured surface and knead to form a ball.
  6. Let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Stretch the dough out with a rolling pin.
  8. Cut into serving squares.
  9. Heat the oil in a heavy saucepan. To check if it’s ready, dip the handle end of a wooden spoon in the oil. If bubbles form around the handle, it’s good to go.  At this point lower the heat to medium.
  10. Fry your doughs until golden brown on both sides and your bread is ready!
